Turkmenistan established diplomatic relations with Niger

Turkmenistan has established diplomatic relations with the Republic of Niger. The signing ceremony of the corresponding Joint Communiqué was held yesterday at the office of the Permanent Mission of Turkmenistan to the UN in New York (USA).

The signing ceremony was preceded by negotiations between the Permanent Representative of Turkmenistan to the UN Aksoltan Atayeva and the Permanent Representative of Niger to the UN Abdu Abarri, the official website of the Ministry of Foreign Affairs of Turkmenistan reports.

During the meeting, the parties confirmed their interest in strengthening friendly relations between the two countries and developing bilateral political, economic and cultural cooperation, as well as cooperation in international organizations.

The parties exchanged views on the prospects for cooperation at the bilateral and multilateral levels, and also discussed issues on the UN agenda of interest to Turkmenistan and Niger.

According to official data, Turkmenistan has established diplomatic relations with 151 countries, and has 40 diplomatic missions and consulates abroad.
