Turkmenistan expands opportunities for foreign investors in the energy sector

The International Investment Forum to attract investments in the energy sector of Turkmenistan (TEIF 2024), launched in Paris, is designed to expand opportunities for attracting foreign direct investment in all segments of the industry.

Ashyrguly Begliyev, adviser to the President of Turkmenistan on oil and gas issues, stated this while speaking at the event, Turkmenportal correspondent reports.

Begliyev noted the prospects for investor participation in the development of the largest gas field “Galkynysh”, the development of the Turkmen shelf of the Caspian Sea, petrochemical and gas chemical projects, the construction of an underground gas storage facility and other infrastructure.

The priority forms of cooperation with foreign partners were service contracts, the creation of joint ventures and the implementation of “turnkey” projects. Particular attention will be paid to environmental aspects and reduction of methane emissions.
