Turkmenistan expands strategic partnership with the EBRD

During a regular meeting of the Cabinet of Ministers, held digitally, President Serdar Berdimuhamedov heard a report from deputy-prime and minister of foreign affairs R.Meredov on developing cooperation with the European bank for reconstruction and development (EBRD).

In preparation for planned visit of the EBRD to Turkmenistan next month, a working meeting was held with the participation of the heads of relevant ministries and agencies and the head of representative office of the bank in our country.

The main topic of discussion was the development of a package of documents aimed at strengthening bilateral ties.The new agreements will cover important areas of strategic partnership, including the fuel and energy sector, transport and logistics, environmental protection, and financial and banking sectors.

President Serdar Berdimuhamedov emphasized that Turkmenistan has successfully cooperated with the European Bank for Reconstruction and Development for many years and attaches particular importance to strengthening relations with reputable international financial institutions.

The head of state instructed the head of the MFA to continue consistent work to deepen productive cooperation with the EBRD.
