Turkmenistan pavilion presented at the Silk Road EXPO in Dunhuang

Today the grand opening of the VI International Cultural Exhibition “Silk Road” took place in the city of Dunhuang, Gansu Province, China.

Two museums from Turkmenistan are participating in the exhibition - the State Museum of the State Cultural Center and the Museum of Fine Arts. The unique exhibits displayed in the Turkmenistan pavilion demonstrate the rich cultural heritage of the Turkmen people.

According to the publication “Turkmenistan: Golden Age”, the stands presented paintings, Turkmen carpets, women's and men's clothing, jewelry, household utensils and textiles.

Numerous photographs introduce visitors to the modern era of development of Turkmenistan.

At the opening ceremony of the Silk Road EXPO, Vice Premier of the State Council of the People's Republic of China Sun Chunlan noted that the current exhibition in Dunhuang is an important platform for developing exchanges and cooperation in the field of culture.

The II Dialogue of Friendly Organizations of Ancient Civilizations was devoted to issues of further improving interaction between peoples. The event was organized by the Chinese People's Society for Friendship with Foreign Countries and the people's government of Gansu Province, the source notes.
