Turkmenbashi Complex of Oil Refineries (TCOR), the major oil refinery in Turkmenistan, aims to build a complex of units for hydrotreatment of diesel fractions and gasoline, catalytic cracking and coking with a hydrogen production unit, the country’s official media reported on Wednesday.
Particularly, the Turkmenbashi refinery and its affiliate Seydi Oil Refinery will create a complex of installations for hydrotreatment of diesel fractions and gasoline, catalytic cracking and coking with a hydrogen production unit, a catalytic cracking of heavy oil residues, a plant for production of high-quality base industrial oils.
All these units will make it possible to increase oil refining depth to more than 90 percent.
Construction of delayed coking and tar deasphalting units is nearing completion at the Turkmenbashi refinery.The main task of the project implemented by a consortium of companies WTL FZE (UAE) and Westport Trading Europe Limited (USA) on the order of Turkmenbashi complex is processing of heavy residues of tar and fuel oil.
Commissioning of the unit, along with increasing the depth of oil refining, will increase the output of liquefied gas, gasoline, diesel fuel and petroleum coke, as well as create additional jobs.
In accordance with the Program of Turkmenistan's oil and gas industry development until 2030, new gas chemical complexes including production of linear low density polyethylene, isobutane, methanol, polyvinyl acetate, liquid chlorine, sodium sulfate will be built in the near future.
