Turkmenistan to Invest Over 545 Million Manats in Transport Infrastructure

President of Turkmenistan Serdar Berdimuhamedov in his speach at the Halk Maslakhaty meeting in Ashgabat on Sunday informed that by the end of this year, more than 545 million manats will be invested in the construction of Turkmenbashi-Farab and Ashgabat-Dashoguz highways and a bridge across Garabogazkol Bay, the country’s official media reports.

"We are creating all necessary conditions to increase the capacity of the construction industry and develop the production base of entrepreneurship in this direction," President Serdar Berdimuhamedov said.

He emphasized the need to collaborate with the United Nations Industrial Development Organization (UNIDO) to further develop specific industries within the country.

"To this end, joint projects and programmes should be developed to advance industrial marketing, increase competitiveness, enter the world markets, and improve management experience," President Berdimuhamedov stressed.

Turkmen President additionally underscored the necessity of formulating a development concept for Arkadag city for the period from 2024 to 2052.

During the Halk Maslakhaty, President Serdar Berdimuhamedov also announced that this year the country will see investments of 37.4 billion manats in production and socio-cultural spheres.
