Turkmenistan took part in the annual meeting of the Asia-Pacific Forum of National Human Rights Institutions

The delegation of Turkmenistan led by the Commissioner for Human Rights Yazdursun Gurbannazarova took part in the 28th annual general meeting and Conference of the Asia-Pacific Forum of national human rights institutions (APF), which was held in New Delhi, India, reports the publication “Turkmenistan: The Golden Age”.

The purpose of the visit was to familiarize with the experience of other countries in the field of human rights protection and strengthen cooperation with APF.

At a meeting in New Delhi, the Ombudsman of Turkmenistan spoke about the work carried out by the Office of the Commissioner for Human Rights in Turkmenistan to protect human rights and freedoms.

APF is a key international partner of Turkmenistan in the field of human rights protection. The Forum assists in the accreditation of the Office of the Commissioner for Human Rights in Turkmenistan by the Global Alliance of National Human Rights Institutions (GANHRI).

The participation of Turkmenistan in APF events is an important step towards further development and strengthening of the institutional capacity of the Office of the Commissioner for Human Rights in Turkmenistan.
