Turkmenistan, United States Discuss Key Cooperation Issues

Turkmenistan Foreign Minister Rashid Meredov met with U.S. Ambassador to Turkmenistan Elizabeth Rood on March 23, 2026, to discuss key areas of bilateral cooperation.

According to Turkmenistan’s Foreign Ministry, the diplomats focused on the outcomes of the February visit to the United States by National Leader of the Turkmen people and Chairman of the Halk Maslahaty Gurbanguly Berdimuhamedov.

During the visit, Gurbanguly Berdimuhamedov met with John Reese of Nicklaus Companies and Eric Stewart, executive director of the Turkmenistan-U.S. Business Council.

Gurbanguly Berdimuhamedov also gave an interview to Al Arabiya.
