Turkmenistan, Uzbekistan Preparing Protocol on Exchange of Customs Information

The State Customs Service of Turkmenistan and the State Customs Committee of Uzbekistan held an online meeting last Friday.

The customs statistics specialists of the two countries met to discuss the draft Protocol between the customs agencies of Turkmenistan and Uzbekistan on the exchange of information on the movement of goods in mutual trade between the countries, the Turkmen Customs Service said in its press release.

After exchanging proposals and comments on the draft, the sides discussed further actions to be taken to agree on the document.

At the end of the meeting, participants noted with satisfaction the ever-developing nature of the Turkmen-Uzbek customs relations, and expressed hope for the continuation of mutually beneficial cooperation.

The trade turnover between Turkmenistan and Uzbekistan in the January-April period of 2022 amounted to $254.5 million.
