Turkmenistan will begin developing a national legal framework in the field of artificial intelligence

At a Cabinet of Ministers meeting on the digital system, President Serdar Berdimuhamedov outlined new vectors for the technological development of the country.One of the pressing topics of discussion was the development of a systematic approach to the implementation of artificial intelligence (AI) technologies.

Deputy-Prime M.Chakyyev presented the head of state with promising proposals for developing the digital economy of the country, including the creation of a regulatory framework governing the AI sector.

Taking into account global trends, Turkmenistan plans to implement a set of measures that include developing rules for the use of AI technologies and defining the responsibilities of parties, establishing the powers and responsibilities of government agencies in matters of interaction with AI, and developing national standards and technical regulations for innovative products.

President Serdar Berdimuhamedov emphasised that the country is effectively working to develop the digital economy and implement its tools in the digital technology sector, in this regard, the development of AI and the establishment of international cooperation are important.

The head of state approved the submitted proposals and instructed the deputy-prime to carry out the necessary work.
