Turkmenturba Public Corporation: Import Substitution as Factor of Growth

Turkmenturba Public Corporation has produced several thousand tons of 20 mm to 500 mm polyethylene and polypropylene pipes this year.Raw materials are supplied from the Turkmenbashi Refinery Complex and the region’s largest gas chemical enterprise in Kiyanly, producing several types of polyethylene, including high-density polyethylene pressure pipes.

The polyethylene, polypropylene and fiber glass pipe manufacturer is making a meaningful contribution to implementing the national development programs, responding to the ever- increasing demand for these products driven by expanding infrastructure in cities and villages.

These pipes have a wide range of applications: domestic water and gas supplies, sewerage and irrigation networks, rainwater and seawater diversion systems.Turkmenturba Public Corporation is now producing pipes from high-density polyethylene, which are leak proof and tension-protected at joints.

Pipes can be joined by one of these methods: butt fusion, electrofusion, or with the help of coupling clamps.They also boast high chemical, corrosion and impact resistance and flexibility.

Since the start of the year, 2.3 thousand tons of different pipes have been made by orders of ministries, agencies, and foreign companies.Polypropylene, an import-substituting product, is used to manufacture household goods, and threaded fittings for drip irrigation systems.

Modern equipment and local raw materials enable the enterprise to create competitive products that meet world standards.
