The construction of a temple of three religions (Christianity, Islam and Judaism) is nearing completion in the capital of the UAE. It is planned for opening in 2022, said Ambassador of the United Arab Emirates to Russia Mohammed Ahmed Al Jaber.
According to him, the religious complex will become a place for education, dialogue and worship. The temple, as the diplomat noted, will be focused on bringing people of all religions closer.
In addition, Muhammad Al Jaber pointed out the similarities between Russia and the UAE: both countries are multinational, and people of different religions peacefully coexist in them. The diplomat stressed that there are all the necessary places for worship in the Emirates such as mosques, churches, synagogues.
Abrahamic religions profess faith in one God, with whom, according to the Book of Genesis revered by all three religions, Abraham concluded a contract. Believers also consider him the forefather of nations and one of the first prophets.
The Temple on Saadiyat Island in Abu Dhabi will become a symbol of religious tolerance in the Middle East. The unique religious complex is part of the “Higher Committee of Human Fraternity” project, which was initiated by Pope Francis and Grand Imam of al-Azhar Sheikh Ahmed El-Tayeb.
The idea of creating the House of the Abraham Family is based on the desire to organize a space for interreligious dialogue. The design will promote mutual respect and “become part of the mission for peaceful coexistence for future generations”.
