UNESCO will consider the nomination of Turkmenistan about the Ahal-Teke horse breeding art

The nomination of Turkmenistan “Ahal-Teke horse breeding art and traditions of horse decoration” will be considered during the 18th session of the Intergovernmental Committee on the Intangible Cultural Heritage of UNESCO in the city of Kasane, Republic of Botswana.

The event is attended by the permanent representative of Turkmenistan to UNESCO, the country's ambassador to France Maksat Charyev and the executive secretary of Turkmenistan for UNESCO Chinar Rustemova, according to a press release from the National Commission of Turkmenistan for UNESCO.

A total of 55 new applications will be reviewed during the session. Of these, 45 elements are for inclusion in the Representative List of the Intangible Cultural Heritage of Humanity, and 6 are for inclusion in the list of intangible cultural heritage in need of urgent protection.

The event is attended by representatives of 181 states, as well as representatives of non-governmental organizations and cultural institutions.
