UNIDO Ready to Support Turkmenistan in Developing Green Industries

The United Nations Industrial Development Organization (UNIDO) expressed readiness to support Turkmenistan in implementing new high-quality projects aimed at creating environmentally friendly industries. UNIDO Director General Gerd Müller made the statement during a meeting with Minister of Industry and Construction Manufacturing of Turkmenistan Toyguly Nurov on Monday in Riyadh.

Müller said the organization can provide technical and advisory assistance, as well as guidance on implementing the objectives outlined in Turkmenistan’s National Program for Social and Economic Development for 20222052, according to the Embassy of Turkmenistan in Saudi Arabia.

Nurov briefed the UNIDO chief on the development of industry and construction in Turkmenistan. He noted the operation of cement plants equipped with modern technologies, glass production facilities and ongoing work to build a steel plant designed to produce environmentally friendly steel.

The Turkmen delegation, led by Minister of Construction and Architecture Abdulla Geldiyev, also held several meetings with representatives of the government of the United Arab Emirates, the management of dmg events and international construction and engineering companies.
