USAID Administrator Samantha Power will travel to Uzbekistan on October 23-24 to convene the first C5+1 Ministerial Conference on Regional Relations.
The agency's press service reported on Saturday that Samantha Power will reaffirm the U.S. government's commitment to the independence, sovereignty, and prosperity of the countries in the region during the event.
"The Ministerial Meeting on Development will strengthen this platform by bringing together ministers from all five countries in the region to take concrete steps to foster inclusive, sustainable economic development in Central Asia, with a focus on regional connectivity, trade, economic growth and entrepreneurship, climate and energy solutions, and opportunities for youth," USAID informed.
The C5+1 Regional Ministerial Conference on Connectivity in Central Asia aims to discuss concrete actions promoting inclusive and sustainable economic development.
Established in 2015, the C5+1 serves as a multilateral mechanism for interaction between Turkmenistan, Kazakhstan, the Kyrgyz Republic, Tajikistan, Uzbekistan and the United States. The dialogue focuses on economic development, regional cooperation and security policy.
