USAID Promotes Digital Innovation Within Turkmenistan’s Civil Sector

February 16, Ashgabat, Turkmenistan The United States Agency for International Development (USAID) held its fourth annual Civic Forum bringing together representatives of the Mejlis, the Ministry of Labor and Social Protection of the Population, the Ministry of Health and Medical Industry, the Ministry of Education, the Turkmencommunications agency and 15 civil society organizations.

The forum focused on the concept the implementation and of the State Program on Digital Economy Development for 2019-2025 through the application of innovative digital solutions.

In today’s rapidly evolving global landscape, digitalization has become essential for every successful organization.It enables higher productivity, greater resilience, and improved sustainability.Recognizing the significance, USAID aims to equip Turkmenistan’s civil sector with innovative digital skills.

The forum focused on exploring strategies for digital engagement in the civil sector, including factors and prospects for digital transformation, the national legal framework for digitalization, and the benefits of digital technologies in promoting social welfare, healthcare, and education.

USAID supports the Turkmenistan Government’s comprehensive digital economic development strategy. Facilitating collaboration between government agencies and civil society, USAID enriches the civil sector’s legal and digital literacy and strengthens its role in societal advancements.
