On the 31st of May, a working visit of a delegation of media representatives from Turkmenistan to the capital of Portugal, Lisbon, began.The trip was organised by the OSCE (Organisation for security and co-operation in Europe) Centre in Ashgabat.
As part of a study visit to Lisbon under a program to promote the further modernisation of journalism and communications practices, meetings will be held over several days with representatives from various publications aimed at exchanging experiences in the environment of today.
The official program of the visit includes meetings at the Portuguese Ministry of foreign affairs, the parliament of the country, and with representatives of the Portuguese media.During the meetings, the Turkmen delegation will learn about the key strategies of their Portuguese colleagues for improving journalism and implementing best international practices, and will also exchange experiences.
Portugal has numerous online resources covering economic, cultural, sports and social issues.In addition, the country publishes a large number of print media national and local newspapers that cover social issues, business and health topics.
