Vyacheslav Volodin visited the “People's Memory” memorial in Ashgabat

Chairman of the State Duma Vyacheslav Volodin within the framework of his visit to Turkmenistan visited the memorial “People's Memory” today in Ashgabat, reports the press-service of the State Duma of the Russian Federation.

The memorial complex was opened in Ashgabat on October 6, 2014 and consists of three sculptural compositions: “Eternal Glory”, “Spiritual Worship”, “Sons of the Motherland”.

The “Eternal Glory” composition is dedicated to the soldiers who fell during the Great Patriotic War. The monument “Spiritual Worship” was erected in memory of the victims of Ashgabat earthquake on October 6, 1948. The “Sons of the Motherland” monument is dedicated to the memory of the defenders of the Gokdepe fortress.

Let’s remind that the delegation of the State Duma headed by Vladimir Volodin is on an official visit in Ashgabat. This was the first visit to Turkmenistan by a State Duma delegation, headed by its chairman, in the last 11 years.
