Сorrespondents of “Chronicles of Turkmenistan” report that effective 10 April, 2020 weddings, birthday parties, commemoration ceremonies and other family festivities have been banned in Lebap velayat of Turkmenistan.
It is likely that it is related to the fact that the first quarantine zone has been set up in the administrative centre of the region and that all international flights have been redirected to Turkmenabat.
Correspondents of “Chronicles of Turkmenistan” reported the previous day that at least seven people who had tested posted for coronavirus were being kept in the quarantine zone on the outskirts of the city.
Despite the ban, a native of Lebap velayat, an employee of the Dashoguz NSM office, arranged a large-scale wedding.
According to eye witnesses, in the morning of 10 April, 2020 over 20 cars from the wedding motorcade with half of them being white off-road vehicles, drove along the central streets of the city at high speed frightening drivers of the vehicles on the opposite side of the road as well as passers-by on the pavements.
The wedding reception was held from 2 to 10 p.m. in the restaurant “Bagtyyarlyk” located in the residential district Zheznodorozhny.
Let us recall that on 4 March, 2020 a decision was made to redirect all international flights to Turkmenabat.
All passengers from inbound flights have been obliged to undergo two-week quarantine.Men have to spend two weeks in a camping site whereas women and children are admitted to Turkmenabad hospitals.
