22.09.2020 | Cooperation under ESCAP is a subject of online meeting

Reduction of transport and communication impact on climate change was the main subject of discussion of two-day online meeting organized by the UN Economic and Social Commission for Asia and Pacific (ESCAP). Leading specialists of Türkmenawtoulaglary and Türkmendeňizderýaýollary Agencies Ministry of Agriculture and Natural Protection took part in the webinar from Turkmen side.

Ecological issues are priority aspects of foreign course pursued by the country under the leadership of President Gurbanguly Berdimuhamedov. In this context, this is a strategic vector in productive relations established between Turkmenistan and the UN.

Having joined number of international nature protection conventions and agreements, our state holds active positions in search for efficient ways of solution of global problems of humanity like climate change, reduction of transport and communication impact on provision of ecological wealth.

Wide range of subjects of cooperation under ESCAP and promotion of cooperation in such important directions as implementation of objectives specified by the Sustainable Development Goals in transport and ecology spheres have been discussed during the meeting under the meeting.

In this regard, the importance of initiatives for activation of beneficial international partnership in the above-mentioned spheres, which were proposed from the tribunes of representative forums, as well as priority positions of our country at the current session of the United Nations General Assembly has been highlighted.
