A concert with the participation of a dance group from India was held in Ashgabat

In Ashgabat on Friday, a sold-out concert was held with the participation of an Indian creative group of classical Kathak dances led by Prajakta Raj.

The event was timed to coincide with the Republic Day of India and was aimed at introducing Turkmen people to the culture of India.

According to the publication “Turkmenistan: Golden Age”, the concert program included dances of the classical style of Northern India “Kathak”. Bright costumes, national music, and original performances gave the audience the opportunity to feel the spirit of ancient and modern India.

In their performances, the artists masterfully combined dance rhythms and gymnastic movements.

In addition, the artists who arrived from India gave a master class on the art of Kathak dance at the National Music and Drama Theater named after Magtymguly, also talking about the role of dance in Indian culture.

The strengthening of fruitful ties between Turkmenistan and the Republic of India is evidenced by the fact that students are trained in the specialty “Hindi language” at the Faculty of Oriental Languages and Literature of the D.
