A literary and musical meeting dedicated to the 85th anniversary of Nury Halmamedov was held in the Ashgabat library

In Ashgabat, at the State Children's Library of Turkmenistan named after B. Amanov, a literary and musical meeting was held dedicated to the 85th anniversary of the birth of Nury Halmamedov.

According to the website of the Ministry of Culture, the event was attended by students of the Turkmen State School of Culture and Art, as well as library staff.

Librarian and cousin of the composer Ogulniyaz Gulmuhammedova spoke about the youth and mature years of Nura Halmamedov.

The teacher of the Turkmen National Conservatory named after Maya Kuliyeva, composer Meret Annamyradov, a student of N. Halmamedov, paid special attention to the life and work of his mentor, the significance of his musical works. He performed fragments of musical compositions that Nury Halmamedov created for Turkmen films.

Jamile Kurbanova, teacher of the Turkmen National Conservatory, musicologist, author of the book “Nury Halmamedov” emphasized that the composer’s works find a worthy place not only in the art of the Turkmen people, but also in world music.

Within the framework of the meeting, an exhibition was launched, where book publications dedicated to the life and work of the composer, scientific literature, photographs, and collections of his notes were presented.
