A necessity to comply with labor standards in the private sector was considered in Ashgabat

The importance of compliance with social, corporate and labor standards in the private sector and its impact on exports were considered during the workshop in Ashgabat at the “Archabil” hotel.

The representatives of the Prosecutor General's Office of Turkmenistan, the Ministry of Labor and Social Protection of the Population, the Ministry of Agriculture and Environmental Protection, the Union of Industrialists and Entrepreneurs of Turkmenistan, the Main Service of “Turkmenstandards” took part in the seminar.

The seminar was aimed at the distribution of the leading experience in combating human trafficking, informing about the need to comply with social, corporate and labor standards in the agricultural and construction sectors. The seminar also introduced global trends in the prevention of labor violations in these areas.

A representative of the Office of the Ombudsman of Turkmenistan, who was present at the meeting, made a report on the norms of national legislation on legal regulation in this matter.

In accordance with the publication “Turkmenistan: Golden Age”, that event was held in the framework of the United Nations Office on Drugs and Crime (UNODC) program for Central Asian countries and the USAID project “Safe Migration in Central Asia”.
