Alp Arslan Begenjov won gold at the Asian Cadet Championship on freestyle wrestling

A holder of a gold medal in the weight category up to 65 kg in the competition on freestyle wrestling at the Asian Wrestling Championship among youth and cadets, held in Bishkek (Kyrgyzstan), has been determined.

It was the Turkmen athlete Alp Arslan Begenjov, who in the final fight was stronger than Akobir Rahimov from Uzbekistan with a score of 9:6.

Bronze medal winners in this weight category became the Japanese Yujin Takizawa and Aikyn Bolatuly from Kazakhstan.

We remind that a student of the 9th grade of the Boarding School for the preparation of young Olympians Alp Arslan Begenjov won gold at the international tournament Constantin Alexandru & Ioan W. Popovici held in Romania among cadets (not older than 17 years old).

Alp Arslan Begenjov trains under the guidance of the main coach of the National team of cadets of Turkmenistan, a silver medalist of the V Asian Indoor and Martial Arts Games Batyr Orazgylyjov.

The Asian Wrestling Championship among youth and cadets will end on June 26. For the first time, the Asian Wrestling Championship is held simultaneously in two age categories — under 17 and under 23.
