Ambassador Extraordinary and Plenipotentiary of the State of Palestine to Turkmenistan Hossein Ali Mustafa Ghannam thanked the Turkmen people and the Gurbanguly Berdimuhamedov Charitable Foundation for Assistance to Children in Need of Care for sending humanitarian aid to the people of Palestine. He said this in an interview with a Turkmenportal correspondent.
In a few days it will be seven years since the opening of the Palestinian Embassy in Turkmenistan.I have held the post of Ambassador Extraordinary and Plenipotentiary of the State of Palestine to Turkmenistan for almost six and a half years.
Diplomatic relations between our countries were established about 30 years ago, noted Hossein Ali Mustafa Ghannam.My main work is to develop diplomatic relations between Palestine and Turkmenistan.
We organize delegation visits and meetings at various levels to strengthen cooperation in many mutually beneficial areas.In August, a delegation led by the Minister of Foreign Affairs of the State of Palestine, Riyadh Al-Maliki, visited Turkmenistan.
A plan for further development of relations was agreed upon.
How do you assess the level of political dialogue between countries?
We respect the policy of neutrality of Turkmenistan. Countries interact closely within the framework of international organizations. Political issues are usually discussed at a high level during visiting delegations. At present time, priority is given to the development of humanitarian relations.
What role does cultural and humanitarian cooperation play?
Previously, we held Palestine Culture Weeks in Turkmenistan. We hope to resume such events. Humanitarian cooperation also plays an important role. Turkmenistan sent aid to Palestinian children, which reflects a high level of mutual understanding.
You mentioned that in November of this year Turkmenistan sent humanitarian aid to the people of Palestine. How do you evaluate this decision?
In difficult times for Palestine, Turkmenistan was one of the first to respond to the situation.President Serdar Berdimuhamedov signed a decree on sending humanitarian cargo on behalf of the Gurbanguly Berdimuhamedov Charitable Foundation.
Fraternal relations between Palestine and Turkmenistan have a long history.Good, friendly relations have always reigned between our peoples.We hope that our children will never forget the generosity and hospitality of the Turkmen people.
Respected President of Turkmenistan Serdar Berdimuhamedov and the National Leader of the Turkmen people, Chairman of the Halk Maslakhaty Gurbanguly Berdimuhamedov proceed from the principles of humanism and good neighborliness.
They separate politics and humanitarian work.I am sure that the Gurbanguly Berdimuhamedov Charitable Foundation is ready to help any people, regardless of their religious or political views.
This Foundation is highly respected in many countries.
