Ashgabat to Host Next Round of Annual Turkmen-American Bilateral Consultations

On Monday, during the Annual Bilateral Consultations between Turkmenistan and US in Washington, Turkmen Foreign Minister Rashid Meredov and US Deputy Assistant Secretary Elizabeth Horst agreed to host the next round of bilateral consultations between Turkmenistan and the United States in Ashgabat in 2024.

Parties agreed that bilateral dialogues are a good starting point for exchanging ideas on joint projects and boosting Turkmen-American cooperation, the Turkmen Foreign Ministry reported in its press release on Tuesday.

During the meeting, security, trade and economic relations, environment, culture, education, and humanitarian issues were discussed as priority areas for collaboration, with Turkmenistan reaffirming its commitment to the cultural and educational programs of the USA.

The sides signed a Memorandum of Understanding in the field of education to serve as a basis for further joint efforts.

Minister Meredov also met with US Secretary of State Antony Blinken during the working visit to Washington, USA.
