Association "Turkmen Logistics" - about the achievements and successes of the industry in 2023

Transport companies of Turkmenistan, under the auspices of the Turkmen Logistics Association, are expanding their business activities and developing new logistics routes involving all types of transport.

The coordinator of the Association, Akmuhammet Yusubov, spoke about the successes and achievements of the industry in 2023 through the prism of the activities of the Turkmen Logistics Association on the pages of the Neutral Turkmenistan newspaper.

In 2023, the pace and volume of cargo transportation by all modes of transport, including private companies, increased. Also in various parts of the country, the construction of industrial and social facilities for the transport and communications complex continued.

As part of domestic and international meetings that took place in 2023, current issues on the organization of transit and multimodal transport, the development and effective use of road transport, trailers and semi-trailers were discussed.

At the invitation of the State Customs Service, members of the Association working on the territory of the Turkmenbashy International Seaport took part in the interdepartmental seminar “The Importance of Economic Customs Regulation in the Development of Transit Transportation.” Marketing Manager of IE “Eminli Maslahat” K.

Vekilov won a competition held by the Ministry of Finance and Economics together with the German Society for International Cooperation (GIZ), and completed a two-week internship in Berlin.

As a result, a partnership was established with the German companies RWS Railway Service and DEBE Logistics & Transports.

Over the past year, the International Coordination Council for Trans-Eurasian Transport, the Latvian National Association of Forwarders and Logistics (LAFF), the Lithuanian National Association of Forwarders and Logistics (LINEKA), and the Kyrgyz Association of International Forwarders have become partners of the Turkmen Logistics Association.

As part of cooperation with the International Coordination Council for Trans-Eurasian Transport (CCTT), members of the Turkmen Logistics Association took part in the International Conference on Trade and Economic Cooperation “Moscow-Yingkou-2023”, a round table on the topic “Introduction of navigation seals in railway transportation”, in the meetings of the CCTT Working Group on Information Technologies, the Working Group on Container Transportation, and the Working Group on Maritime Logistics.

The participation of Turkmen cargo carriers in the International North-South ITC Forum in Astrakhan, Heavy Caspian in Baku, Break Bulk Europe in Rotterdam, and LogisTrans in Istanbul was important for the effective use of the transport and transit potential of Turkmenistan.

In order to develop Baltic-Caspian cooperation, with the support of the Central Asia Trade Program of the US Agency for International Development, members of the Association made study tours to the ports of Latvia and Lithuania.

At the same time, the Turkmen Logistics Association itself acted as an information partner of the forum “Black SeaCaspian Sea: transport corridors, cargo and infrastructure”, held in Baku.

The issues of improving the qualifications of Turkmen specialists in the field of transport and logistics were not left without attention.During the year, more than 110 specialists from 54 logistics companies, as part of the cooperation of the Turkmen Logistics Association with CILT Central Asia, attended training seminars on topics such as road freight transportation, development of logistics skills, insurance in logistics, container transportation, and warehouse logistics.

The acquired knowledge and skills, studying world experience and introducing it into the practice of their companies increases the competitiveness of Turkmen cargo carriers.

According to experts, the demand for transport services to support transit flows in the Asia-Pacific region, Central Asia and Europe will increase.In the context of the growth of Turkmenistan’s foreign trade turnover and export-import transportation of goods, the digital transformation of cargo transportation and the development of a modern logistics system are of paramount importance for Turkmen companies.

Turkmen cargo carriers will work in this direction, the report notes.
