Central Asian countries and Afghanistan agreed to step up economic cooperation with the goal of increasing mutual trade to $10 billion over the next three to four years, following the first meeting of the AfghanistanCentral Asia Consultative Dialogue held April 5 in Kabul, Ariana News reported Sunday.
According to Turkmenistan’s Ministry of Foreign Affairs, the Turkmen delegation was led by Ambassador to Afghanistan Hoja Ovezov.
During the meeting, participants discussed assessing existing opportunities and challenges in relations between Afghanistan and Central Asian states, expanding economic and transit cooperation, and developing a comprehensive roadmap for regional integration.
Ovezov outlined Turkmenistan’s efforts to support Afghanistan’s economic recovery.
Participants also expressed support for continuing the Central AsiaAfghanistan consultative dialogue and reaffirmed their commitment to closer cooperation in implementing joint projects related to Afghanistan’s recovery and integration into the international economic system.
