Dashoguz’s Farmers Expect 15 Centners of Maash Harvest Per Hectare

Harvest of mung beans, also known as maash, is underway in Turkmenistan’s Dashoguz velayat. The region's farmers expect to harvest at least 15 centners of the harvest from each hectare.

The grain legumes harvested from the fields are currently transported to the reception points of the Daşoguzgallaönümleri production association, the country’s official media reported on Tuesday.

The leader of the harvesting campaign is the Koneurgench Etrap, where the maash plantations occupy 550 hectares of land. The farmers of the S. Turkmenbashi etrap with 700-hectare mash plantations intend to harvest the crop more than in other etraps of the region.

The maash harvests are rigorously tested in laboratories for quality parameters, according to the report.

In addition to maash, the farmers in Dashoguz velayat also planted beans, which are resistant to droughts and various diseases, on 250 hectares of land.
