Development of fishing industry: Integration and market relations

At the session of the Government on March 1, Vice-premier Ch.Gylyjov reported on the work for development of fishing industry in the country to the Head of the State.

Ahalbalyk, Balkanbalyk, Daşoguzbalyk, Lebapbalyk and Marybalyk facilities have been privatized by the members of the Union of Industrialists and Entrepreneurs.At the same time, the works for improvement of equipment and facilities base of these facilities are carried out.

Ships of Balkanbalyk, which catch fish in Caspian Sea, have been repaired in several stages and it gave the opportunity to increase the volume of caught fish by three times. 16 million alevins have been released to the lakes and water pools of the velayat by Daşoguzbalyk facility for increment of fish reserves.

Marybalyk organization carries out repair and construction works in Murgab etrap.Ahalbalyk builds water pools with geotextile and geomembrane cover in Kaahka etrap.Hazarbalyk plans to receive the caviar for sale in local and foreign markets by 2020 from the sturgeons bred by industrial method.

In 2018, the volume of fish production imported to the country reduced by 43.5 percent and the export of canned fish was 73.3 tons.In January February 2019, the volume of fish production was 480 tons.

Construction of ten facilities of this sphere is continued under the implementation of the state programmes.Opening of these facilities in the future will give the opportunity to increase fish production up to 574 tons, provide local market and to arrange stable export.

In this regard, the Head of the State noted that privatization is to support further improvement of competiveness of the economy, growth of industrial production, dynamic development of private sector and gave specific assignments on construction of fishing industry facilities to the Vice-premier.
