Today, on 12 December, the Day of Neutrality is being celebrated in Turkmenistan.

As has been previously reported, President of Turkmenistan Gurbanguly Berdymukhamedov emphasized that preparations for hosting the festivities and international events be at a high organizational level in Ashgabat so that the capital should leave only “the most favourable impressions on visitors”.

Moreover, the head of the state ordered ensuring “abundance of food products” in Turkmen stores in the run-up to the holiday. It should be emphasized that Ashgabat is facing a shortage of eggs, whereas there is a deficit of flour in the provinces.

The national television prepared several broadcasts featuring full store counters.

Pro-governmental Internet-based news outlets emphasized that there is “lively” commerce going on in the markets and expressed confidence that “the government and the private sector will provide the results with an abundance of food products and merchandise”.
