ORIENT has repeatedly written about, Turkmen teachers Russianists laureates and winners of the International Pushkin competition. And here on the eve of online winners of the 20th anniversary competition, which will be held on November 11, the ORIENT had a talk with experts from Dashoguz Olga Yazmyradova, Enahan Palvanova and Jennet Myatieva.
The Pushkin competition has been existing for 20 years, how many times have you participated in it, and has it affected your work?
“In 2019, I took part in this most prestigious international competition for Russian language teachers for the first time.At that time, I failed to become a winner so I decided to try again, especially as the topic of this year’s essay was dedicated to the 75th anniversary of the Great Patriotic War.
The war, which came by not a single family,” answers Olga Yazmyradova.
“Becoming the winner, I got a “second wind”.It is pleasant that my students and colleagues in our village school in the Gerogly district of Dashoguz region also appreciated this.
In my work, I try to apply new strategies so that study for children is not boring.And it is not true that the present generation is spiritless, that they are not interested in anything, as you can often hear.
I am proud that I also contribute to the fact that more and more of our pupils participate in various intellectual and creative competitions with great enthusiasm, including through the Internet,” says Olga.
And she adds that it is the work of teachers that largely determines what our society will be like tomorrow.
Enahan Palvanova endorsed her colleague,
“Indeed, if there are no clearly defined goals, then there will be no results. Personally, this attitude motivated me to participate for the second time in such an international project as the Pushkin competition. And it’s successfully!”
“In 2016, I also had the opportunity to participate in the open International Russian language Olympiad in Moscow.Any competition is a surge of emotions, communication with colleagues and new experience.
Communication gives food for the mind, allows you to learn useful and interesting things.This is always another step in development, self-improvement as a teacher, a push for some internal changes,” continues she.
“I get acquainted with smart, creative and decent people, many of them have become my friends.When you work for a long time, it seems that you understand everything perfectly and do everything correctly.
And suddenly you are evaluated, you compare yourself with the others this is just necessary, although it causes great excitement.I understood a lot for myself, I looked at many things differently.
Naturally, everyone strives to win, to show their best professional qualities, but victory is not an end in itself.I try to bring all the acquired knowledge to the educational process of my school# 17 in Dashoguz.
I am especially glad that annually more and more of my pupils participate in international competitions and Olympiads and become winners.”
Jennet Myatieva, a Russian language teacher of secondary school# 2 in Dashoguz, participated in the Pushkin competition twice,
“I have heard a lot about this competition, read about the winners on the Internet, and knew its winners from Turkmenistan.At the same time, I did not dare to participate for a long time, I was afraid to be upset if I could not win.
But in my heart I still had hope for victory and a long-awaited trip to Moscow.I was inspired by my family, they believed in me.”
Jennet participated in the competition twice in 2018, becoming one of the 50 winners, and in 2020 in the category of winners of previous years, in which only 25 winners were announced. This nomination was established in honor of the 20th anniversary of the Pushkin competition.
“I was lucky enough to be the winner both times, which I was immensely happy about.The purpose of my participation was not just one, there were several of them.
First of all, my dream was to visit Moscow, and winning the competition just provided for inviting the winners to the capital of the Russian Federation and spending 5 days there, including Moscow Day on the first Sunday of September.
Secondly, you can meet and get acquainted with colleagues from other countries, exchange work experience, communicate and, as they say, look at others and, of course, show yourself from the best side.
Finally, there was a desire to simply test my creativity by writing an essay on the topics proposed by the organizers.And the topics were not easy.”
“My participation and especially my victory in the International Pushkin competition in 2018 inspired me to find new creative approaches to working with children to teach them Russian, continues the interlocutrix.
After learning about my trip to Moscow, many talented and energetic teachers also decided to test themselves and participate in this competition.The Pushkin competition, a trip to Moscow, participation in the award ceremony held at the Moscow City Hall, meetings with interesting people all this became a powerful emotional charge for me.
After returning from Moscow, I’ve become even more enthusiastic about teaching my pupils the language of Pushkin, as well as telling them about Russia.”
“Among my pupils are winners of the state competitions and the winners of the Internet competitions among schoolchildren, says with pride Jennet Myatieva.Unfortunately, this year, for certain reasons, the trip to Moscow did not take place, but it was not canceled, simply postponed to the next fall.
So I live in hope for a new meeting with the gorgeous city, as well as with my colleagues.”
Listening to the stories of Russian specialists, you understand that they have one goal a desire to strengthen the prestige of Turkmenistan in the Russian world. After all, Russian cannot be a foreign language in our country. It sounds everywhere. Sometimes words can be pronounced incorrectly, with mistakes, but it still sounds. And that means it lives!
