Hollywood actors' strike ends after five months

American actors and producers reached an agreement that ended the five-month strike. The deal, which is valued at 1 billion USD, will see the actors receive pay raises and bonuses for their appearances on the streaming service. “MIR 24” reports this.

The strike began in July 2023, when the American Federation of Television and Film Actors (SAG-AFTRA) demanded higher wages and restrictions on the use of artificial intelligence in the production of films and TV series. The producers initially refused to make concessions, but were eventually forced to agree to the actors' demands.

The actors' strike was the first since 1980 and the longest in Hollywood history. It caused serious damage to the film industry, whose losses during this time exceeded 5 billion USD.
