Humanitarian cargo from Turkmenistan arrived in Astrakhan

Containers with humanitarian aid were delivered today by a dry cargo ship from Turkmenistan to the port of Astrakhan.

According to RIA “Volga”, referring to the press service of the Astrakhan governor, the cargo included two containers of medical products (disposable masks, protective helmets, medical gowns and overalls), as well as products of its own production.

“This is a sign of friendship and good-neighborly relations,” commented on the arrival of the humanitarian cargo, the consul of Turkmenistan in the Russian Federation (the city of Astrakhan) Guych Garayev.

Regional Health Minister Alexey Spirin said that the goods received will be sent to health care institutions dealing with the treatment of covid patients.

“Turkmenistan has always been a reliable partner for the Astrakhan region. We work closely in all areas. The plans of joint work were recently discussed by Governor Igor Yuryevich Babushkin in Moscow at a meeting of the co-chairs of the Russian-Turkmen Intergovernmental Commission,” A. Spirin said.

Let us remind you that Turkmen goods were donated to the Russian side in accordance with the Order of President Gurbanguly Berdimuhamedov as “mutual respect and assistance”.

This is the second batch of humanitarian aid. We remind that the first one was delivered in May last year. Then Turkmenistan sent food and industrial products, as well as textiles and building materials worth 1 million US dollars to the Astrakhan region “as a gesture of friendship and good neighborliness”.
