
Batyr Niyazliev, Ambassador of Turkmenistan to Russia, held a meeting with Ilkhom Nematov, Deputy Chairman of the Executive Committee Executive Secretary of the CIS, during which topical issues of cooperation within the Commonwealth were discussed, the website of the Embassy of Turkmenistan in Moscow informed.
The sides noted the implementation of decisions made, primarily in the light of the documents signed in 2020 at the meeting of the heads of the CIS governments related to such tasks as the strategy of economic development of the Commonwealth of Independent States for the period up to 2030 and the interstate program of innovative cooperation is of priority ones.
Nematov praised initiatives of Turkmenistan aimed at strengthening economic cooperation in the CIS, primarily in such areas as energy, transboundary economic partnership, transport and logistics.
It was agreed to maintain permanent working contacts between the Deputy Chairman of the CIS Executive Committee and the Embassy of Turkmenistan in the framework of the upcoming joint events at the Commonwealth sites this year.
Thus, the next meeting of the Commission on Economic Issues under the Economic Council of the CIS, scheduled to be held on February 17, will consider proposals on railway transport, cooperation in the field of electronic commerce and development of scientific and technical cooperation.
