June 12 declared a day of national mourning in Kazakhstan

President of Kazakhstan Kassym-Jomart Tokayev declared June 12 a day of national mourning for those killed in a forest fire in the Abai region, informs AiF-Moscow with reference to the press service of the head of state.

It is known that 14 employees of one of the forestries of Kazakhstan died as a result of a fire caused by lightning strikes.The area of fire is more than 60 thousand hectares, more than a thousand employees of various departments are involved in the elimination of the fire.

Extinguishing is complicated by high temperature, large burning area and gusts of wind.

Condolences in connection with the tragedy to the President and the people of Kazakhstan were expressed by the President of Turkmenistan Serdar Berdimuhamedov and the National Leader of the Turkmen people, Chairman of the Halk Maslahaty Gurbanguly Berdimuhamedov.
