On October 2, a meeting was held in the building of the House of Representatives of Japan between the Ambassador of Turkmenistan to Tokyo Atadurdy Bayramov and the Chairman of the Japan-Turkmen Interparliamentary Friendship Group Toshiaki Endo. The parties noted the key role of interparliamentary relations in expanding the partnership between Turkmenistan and Japan. A striking example of active interparliamentary exchange are regular contacts and meetings of the parliamentary friendship groups of the two countries.
The importance of the initiative of the National Leader of the Turkmen People, Chairman of the Halk Maslahaty of Turkmenistan Gurbanguly Berdimuhamedov to hold a meeting of the heads of parliaments of the Central Asian countries and Japan in Ashgabat was especially emphasized.
During the meeting, the parties also noted the permanent nature of the Turkmen-Japanese dialogue in the political, diplomatic, parliamentary, trade, economic and humanitarian spheres, where there is solid potential for mutual implementation, the source notes.
