The Vice-Premier, Minister of Foreign Affairs of Turkmenistan called the Conference on Interaction and Confidence Building Measures in Asia (CICA) to support the initiative of Turkmenistan at the UN to declare 2025 the Year of Peace and Confidence.
This was declared by the Head of the Turkmen Foreign Ministry during his speech on the уму of the VI CICA summit in Astana, informburo.kz reports.
In addition, the Head of the Turkmen Ministry of Foreign Affairs drew attention to the need to solve the problem of refugees, which also concerns Asian countries. As per his words, its solution requires joining efforts and “effective solutions, aimed at people’s protection, political and legal guarantees”.
Meredov also stressed the importance of coordinated actions in reaching the Sustainable Development Goals, including such critical fields as food security.
Earlier, President Serdar Berdimuhamedov called on the SCO countries to support Turkmenistan's initiatives in the UN to strengthen peace, security and stability, speaking as an honorary guest at the summit of this international organization in Samarkand on September 16.
