New product EMEL comes to Turkmen market

Antiseptic sanitizers and colognes under EMEL trademark produced by SynToprak business entity have come to the markets of Ashgabat. The company has started producing 80% alcohol disinfectants in October this year.

New production has been approved by the State Sanitary and Disease Control Service of the Ministry of Health Protection and Medical Industry of Turkmenistan.

- Last March, we have opened a company for production of antiseptic and antibacterial products, - Murat Hojamuradov told in the interview. I am a laboratory chemist by education, my friends are chemical engineer and businessman. In September, we have launched the first lot of the product and received the government registration.

We based on the principles of efficiency, availability and cost. We were searching and found the publication of WHO, owing to which we have made out own formula.

- Why did you choose this name EMEL?

- EL is a hand in Turkmen language and EM is a medicine or usefulness. So EMEL is a useful treatment for hands.

- Where is your workshop located where you make your wonderful product?

- The facility is located on 200 sq.m.in the 11th micro district of Ashgabat. We also have a warehouse and laboratory. We produce 20,000 bottles of antiseptic per months, however, we can make more, up to one ton per day.

Turkish and Turkmen equipment allows producing this amount but since we have some difficulties in supply of bottles we cannot manage this volume. The necessary bottles are made in China.

- Good antiseptic has to contain antimicrobial active components, for example an alcohol, which are the most preferable from efficiency and safety point of view. For provision of their rapid antimicrobial effect, the content of the alcohol has to be not less than 60%. Is it correct?

- Yes, but our content is more 8- percent. This is our advantage. As per the WHO recommendation, it has to have such a content of alcohol.

When we gave our product to the laboratory of the Technological Center of the Academy of Sciences of Turkmenistan for a test, they were surprised with the efficiency of our antiseptics.

After their use, the hands are protected for 24 hours. In addition to alcohol, we use hydrogen peroxide. At present, we make experiments on expansion of range of use of our products, for example in treatment of burns.

We add glycerin to antiseptics, which softens the skin, and menthol fragrance.

- We do you take raw material?

- The alcohol is of a local make. We filter it several times. Other components are from China, Indonesia, Vietnam.

- It was found out that you also produce a cologne?

- Yes, we have developed this production as well.It is required by the barbers, and not only by them, it is used by cooks to remove the smell after working with fish, garlic, onion.

Disinfectants kill germs but do not remove the smell. However, the cologne is designated for this.So far, we produce cologne with the scent of lemon and lavender.

In future, we are planning to increase the product line.

For convenience of consumers, we produce the cologne in small bottles of 100 and 150 ml. these days, we make tests for production of spray for cleaning of various hard surfaces. We will produce it in more economic bottles of 500 ml.

I would like to say that our products do not contain chlorine. This is a chemical, which causes allergy, sleekness, bad smell and irritates the skin when using. Any excess of this chemical makes bad effect on people’s health. We use hydrogen peroxide, which has been well-recommended.

In future, the company plans to produce hair loss shampoo, shower gels and other products. We do not stop at what we have achieved. We plan to receive ISO certification for our product so our people would be able to use quality products. In addition, we negotiate with Afghanistan and Uzbekistan about export of our production to these countries.

- Thank you for the interview.
