Orchestra under Rasul Klychev Delights Fans with Rich Array of Musical Masterpieces

The State Symphony Orchestra of Turkmenistan directed by Rasul Klychev has presented an outstanding new program, Masterpieces for All’.The concert that took place at the Magtymguly Music and Drama Theater brought the classical music season to a spectacular close.

The season will be best remembered by fans of the talented ensemble for its impressive varied programs with a broad range of time periods and styles of world music.

A concert by the CIS Symphony Orchestra at the Mukam Palace, a fitting finale to the 14th CIS Cultural and Scientific Forum, was undoubtedly a major event.Joint work with People’s Artist of the Russian Federation, Artistic Director of the Russian State Symphony Cinema Orchestra Sergey Skripka has marked a bright chapter in the orchestra’s history.

A presentation of the musical project based on Disney cartoons was a huge success.A concert to commemorate Nino Rota, joint concerts with American Voices, Zamfiresku Trio from Romania and the Ari Roland Jazz Quartet, as well as an opera production entitled Aşyk Çanly’ (Chanly in Love’) with the Orchestra, premiered in the administrative center of Balkan velayat during the Culture Week-2019, were truly unforgettable experiences for Ashgabat residents and visitors.

The Orchestra’s final concert of the season vividly named Masterpieces for All’ featured works by famous composers: Mozart, Brahms, Puccini, Weber, Lyadov, Khachaturian, among others.It opened with the overture to Wolfgang Amadeus Mozart’s The Abduction from the Seraglio’.

Like the entire opera, the overture has plenty of plot elements and a distinctive eastern flavor - it is set in Turkey.Johannes Brahms’s Symphony No. 3 evoked a different wave of emotions.

It is full of emotional depth and good cheer with a passionate upward surge in the finale.Talented young singer Gozel Annakhanova, who sang an aria from Puccini’s opera, Tosca, amazed the audience with her rich, silky soprano voice.

Honored Artist of Turkmenistan Ismail Jumaev, who sang the title role in Mozart’s Don Giovanni, also enchanted the listeners.The concert’s second part started with Aram Khachaturian’s Concerto for Violin and Orchestra (Part 2).

Samir Rizaev, a virtuoso solo violinist, once again won everyone’s hearts with his unique style of playing.Andrey Petrov’s music for the film Taming of the Fire’ gripped the audience with its expressiveness.

The Danzón No. 2 by Arturo Márquez with its exquisiteness and emotional intensity brought the concert to an end.After the concert Rasul Klychev revealed plans for a new season, having assured classical music lovers that it promises many surprises and new discoveries.
