Poultry farm opened in Turkmenistan. Chicken prices increase by 30%

On 17 November, 2020 a new poultry processing plant was opened in Geokdepe etrap. It is designed to produce 112,500 сhickens and 720 tons of chicken meat a year, the newspaper “Neitralny Turkmenistan” reports.

In the course of the festivities bringing together officials from velayat and etrap khyakimlik’s offices, representatives of the Union of Industrialists and Entrepreneurs and local residents it was emphasized that “ensuring abundance of groceries” is one of the priorities of the social and economic policy pursued by President Gurbanguly Berdymukhammedov.

At the same time, correspondents of “Chronicles of Turkmenstan” report that since 16 November the price for chicken meat produced by the association “Guş toplumy” has increased in Ashgabat stores.

Last week the stores owned by the production association and some state-run shops, for example those located in Azatlyk and Tekin market, sold chicken at 13 manats per kilo. Now they are being sold at 17 manats.

Prices for chicken produced by “Guş toplumy” in privately-owned retail outlets are higher.A kilo of chicken at Tekin bazaar costs 26 manats whereas in “Nurmarket” shopping centre 26,8 manats.The post Poultry farm opened in Turkmenistan.
