President of Turkmenistan Serdar Berdimuhamedov on Thursday within the framework of his visit to Turkmenistan’s northern province of Dashoguz inspected the construction of the overhead power line Balkan-Dashoguz, the second stage of a project to create a ring power transmission system in the country.
A presentation of projects to create the ring power transmission system and other projects related to the electric power industry, which are planned for implementation in the coming years, took place at the construction site, the official Turkmen media reports.
Charymyrat Purchekov, the Deputy Chairman of the Government in charge of the construction, industrial and energy issues, reported on these projects, ongoing work on their implementation, as well as on the location schemes of the relevant facilities.
The Head of State stressed the need to keep under constant control the issues related to equipping the facilities of the ring power system based on best practices and gave a number of specific instructions to the relevant officials.
The first stage of a project to create a ring power transmission system in the country, which links electric networks of Ahal and Balkan velayats, was commissioned in August last year. The construction of the Balkan-Dashoguz power transmission line began in January of this year.
The construction of Turkmenistan's ring power transmission system along the Ahal-Balkan-Dashoguz route is scheduled to be completed in 2023.
