President of Turkmenistan Receives Prime Minister of Belarus

President of Turkmenistan Serdar Berdimuhamedov on Friday received Prime Minister of Belarus Alexander Turchin in Ashgabat, where the Belarusian premier arrived on a working visit to participate in a meeting of the CIS Council of Heads of Government.

During the meeting, the sides noted the steady development of Turkmen-Belarusian relations based on the principles of friendship, mutual respect, and partnership, according to Turkmenistan’s official media.

The interlocutors emphasized the potential for expanding bilateral trade, including in the agro-industrial and transport infrastructure sectors. Particular attention was also paid to the positive dynamics of cooperation in education.

According to the report, Turkmenistan and Belarus continue cooperation within international organizations, providing mutual support across various areas.

The Prime Minister of Belarus arrived in Ashgabat to participate in the meeting of the CIS Council of Heads of Government, which is being held on May 22 in both narrow and expanded formats. Following the talks, the heads of delegations are expected to sign a number of final documents.
