On 29 April President Gurbanguly Berdymukhammedov participated in the festivities devoted to Day of Turkmen Horse, which were held in the Akhal-teke equestrian complex.
On behalf of the fellow countrymen the head of the state was presented with the Akhal-teke horses.The state information agency TDH report that racing horses from five velayats of the country were shown to the arena with the head of the province handing in the horse passport to the President.
On behalf of military and law enforcement authorities President Berdymukhamedov was presented with the sixth horse with the horse passport being awarded by the Secretary of the State Security Council, Defense Minister Yalym Berdiev.
Another horse was presented to the President as a gift from all horse breeders of Turkmenistan. Thus, the number of the horses presented to the President coincided with the favourite number of the head of the state seven.
Then the President accompanied by a group of senior horse jockey mentors participated in the race on Akhal-teke horses for the distance of 1 200 meters and became the winner.
Let us recall that in September 2014 President Berdymukhammedov was awarded the title “Master jockey mentor of Turkmenistan”.
