Production Growth Rate in Turkmenistan Reaches 108.2 %

The growth rate of production in Turkmenistan made up 108.2 percent in January-March 2023, Batyr Atdayev, Deputy Prime Minister in charge of the trade and textile complex of Turkmenistan reported to President of Turkmenistan Serdar Berdimuhamedov at the meeting of the Cabinet of Ministers on Saturday.

The Deputy Prime Minister also stated that the Trade and Foreign Economic Relations Ministry’s trade turnover increased by 116.2 percent in January-March 2023 compared to the same period last year.

According to the report, Turkmen Ministry of Textile Industry produced 107.1 and 114.4 percent cotton yarn, 101.6 percent garments and knitwear, and 118.4 percent leather products, respectively, compared to the same period previous year.

Since the beginning of 2023, 114.2 percent of the carpet production plan has been implemented in the companies of the Türkmenhaly State Association.

Batyr Atdayev also reported that the growth rate in agriculture and food production in the first quarter of 2023 was 122.7 percent, while the growth rate in industrial production was 107.2 percent.

President Berdimuhamedov emphasized the significance of convening the relevant Interdepartmental Commission at the level to improve the country's food security, regulate exports and imports.

The meeting also discussed other important aspects and adopted relevant documents.
