Promising does not mean getting married: an Indian woman got her groom arrested during her wedding to another girl

In the Indian state of Uttar Pradesh, a girl interfered with the wedding of her groom with another woman, writes novosti.kg with reference to The Times of India.

The girl found out about the young man’s family’s plans to marry him to someone else when the wedding ceremony had already begun. She contacted the police, reporting her fiance's infidelity, and had him arrested. The police stopped the wedding procession and took all participants in the conflict to the police station.

The dispute between the girl and the boy's family was referred to the council of village elders.

As a result, a decision was made that satisfied both parties. The bride agreed to marry the groom's younger brother, and the groom promised to marry his girlfriend in the near future. After that everyone was released.
