Residents of besieged Leningrad from Turkmenistan and other countries will visit St. Petersburg

Residents of besieged Leningrad from Turkmenistan and a number of other countries will take part in events in St. Petersburg on the occasion of the 80th anniversary of the complete liberation of the city from the siege, reports the website of the Turkmenistan Embassy in Russia.

One of the participants in the trip will be Galina Alekseevna Mamedova, a survivor of the Leningrad siege who lives in Ashgabat today.

Siege survivors living in Turkmenistan will join 50 veterans from 11 countries who will come to St. Petersburg. All of them will receive memorial signs “In honor of the 80th anniversary of the complete liberation of Leningrad from the fascist blockade”.
