Residents over 65 years old boosted against COVID-19

Booster vaccination campaign is underway in Ashgabat. According to correspondents of “Chronicles of Turkmenistan”, starting from 31 January, 2022 residents are receiving their booster shots with Russian vaccine in outpatient clinics from 8 a.m. to 1 p.m.

Booster shots are currently being administered to residents aged 65 and older. On 30 and 31 January, 2022 healthcare practitioners from outpatient clinics called patients of the above age group and invited them to the medical facilities to receive booster shots.

On 23 December, 2021 Turkmenistan’s Ministry of Healthcare and Medical Industry registered “Sputnik Light” as the COVID-19 vaccine and a booster. A booster is usually administered six months after the full vaccination.

At the briefing held on 24 December, 2021 the Ambassador of Russia to Turkmenistan Aleksandr Blokhin said that Russia handed over 10 thousand of the vaccine free of charge.

A batch of “Sputnik Light” vaccine, purchased by Ashgabat, was delivered to Turkmenistan on repatriation flight Moscow-Turkmenabad-Moscow operated by the Russian air carrier S7 on 28 January.The post Residents over 65 years old boosted against COVID-19 first appeared on Chronicles of Turkmenistan.
