On January 6, President of Turkmenistan Serdar Berdimuhamedov held the first meeting of the Cabinet of Ministers in 2024, at which issues of upcoming events and development plans for the country were discussed.
In particular, the agenda included issues of regulating foreign trade and improving investment policy, plans in the areas of construction, fuel and energy complex, culture and information technology.

Economy
Deputies of the Turkmen Mejlis are preparing a Memorandum on the regulation of foreign trade in Turkmenistan. They discussed its preparation during a working meeting with consultants from the World Trade Organization and the Asian Development Bank.
The Government of Turkmenistan has prepared Work Plans for 2024 for the economic, financial and banking complex. They provide for the intensification of the country’s socio-economic development, the further introduction of digital technologies and the improvement of investment policy in cooperation with international financial organizations.
Construction
A modern secondary school for 1200 places and a dormitory for 120 places will be built in the village of Bokurdak, Ak Bugday etrap, Ahal velayat of Turkmenistan.
Fuel and Energy Complex
Plans for 2024 include creating new jobs in the oil and gas sector of Turkmenistan, as well as attracting young specialists to scientific activities and organizing advanced training courses.
Culture
In Turkmenistan, preparations are underway for celebrations on the occasion of the proclamation of the city of Anau as the cultural capital of the Turkic world in 2024. The launch event will include a concert, an exhibition of works by artists, masters of fine and decorative arts, as well as photographers from Turkic countries.
On the occasion of the 300th anniversary of the great Turkmen poet and thinker Magtymguly Fragi, Turkmenistan organizes cultural events in Azerbaijan, USA, Uzbekistan, Japan, Korea, Kyrgyzstan, Georgia, Türkiye, Iran, Armenia, Romania, Pakistan, India, Germany, Spain, Great Britain and others countries.
Activities of Parliament
Deputies of the Mejlis of Turkmenistan completed practical training sessions at the Academy of Civil Service under the President of Turkmenistan, where they consolidated theoretical knowledge and improved their skills.
Information technology
The Agency of Transport and Communications under the Cabinet of Ministers of Turkmenistan is working to strengthen cybersecurity and train high-level specialists in this field.
