Tajikistan increased the volume of trade with Turkmenistan by more than 6 times

In the first two months of this year, Tajikistan increased the volume of trade with Turkmenistan by 6.1 times, Sputnik reports.

This growth is taking place against the background of a general increase in the volume of trade between Tajikistan and the CIS countries. During this period, the republic increased its trade turnover by 47.1% compared to the same period in 2021. At the same time, trade with Russia increased by 1.7 times, Belarus - by 1.6 times.

The trade turnover with Azerbaijan, Armenia, Moldova and Kyrgyzstan decreased during this period. Nevertheless, the main trading partners were Russia, Kazakhstan and Uzbekistan among the CIS countries.

However, the source notes that Tajikistan's trade balance with the CIS countries turned out to be negative and imports of goods more than 3.3 times exceeded export figures: goods worth more than 137.1 million were exported, and more than $ 465 million were imported.
